Today our guest blogger is Oksana from The Polished Koi. Oksana's swatches are always beautiful, but it is her intricate stamping that creates a story that truly amazes me. You will see what I mean below! At the very bottom is the rafflecopter to win 1 of 2 Full Collections being given away on the blog! Be sure to check it out! Thanks again Oksana!
Tonic Polish - HHC Custom Trio - Game of Thrones
Hello & welcome! I'm excited to be showing a few Tonic Polish colors from my stash in this post. I couldn't help myself and added nail art to the swatches as well, I hope you enjoy!
When asked to do a guest post for the Indie Swatch, I got pretty flustered, it's a big honor, and I wanted to show off something new from my collection of Tonic's polishes. By "new" I mean something I haven't swatched before, which proved to be a little difficult! I even reached out to Tonic's amazing CS and asked for a list of the top 10 best sellers - I'll share that at the end of the post for anyone curious. But in the end, I took out a trio of customs that were made for Hella Handmade Creations (formers Hella Holo Customs) Facebook group in 2017.
Dragon Scale - dark emerald green linear holo with iridescent green flakes; I applied 2 coats for the swatches & top coat
With a name like this, how could I not use a scale print? I used stamping plate from Mundo de Unas, Game of Thrones. The ring finger says "Mother of Dragons" but it was hard to capture the text with all the light glares.
For The Watch - dark blue linear holo with a little purple shift, iridescent blue flakes, and a sprinkling of fuchsia UCC flakes; just 2 coats of this delicious blue & top coat
I used the same MdU stamping plate for all the manis, it's got a good mix of text and images, and who can say "no" to Jon Snow?!
Frozen Kingdom - scattered holographic mint green lumichrome* that shifts to purple, pink, and beyond with pink-yellow-green shifting iridescent flakes; 2 coats and top coat
”Lumichrome” is a term that was coined by one of Tonic's customers to describe the finish of the pale, metallic multichrome colors Tonic has been releasing.
While these polishes are not available, they're a good example of the kinds of nail polishes that Tonic Polish creates - if you haven't tried the brand yet, I recommend you do! There's a reason they've made it to the Hall of Fame!
And here's the list of top 10 polishes, based on purchases:
1. Peacock Parade
3. Uba Tuba
7. Dragon Tears
10. Come Wander
Any of these come as a surprise to you? Maybe you already own some of these? They're definitely beautiful examples of what gets released, and I can't wait to see what's in store for spring!
